Donor Services
The San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation is a donor-driven organization. We work with donors to fulfill their charitable wishes in perpetuity. A significant advantage of working with the Community Foundation is the variety of services provided by the Foundation staff.
Donor education
Program staff are well-versed in local community needs and the charitable organizations addressing those needs. Staff periodically conducts research on local issues and produces reports to assist and inform the Foundation's grantmaking programs and process. These reports are available to donors and are posted on the Foundation's website under Charitable Giving/Community Needs.
In addition, the Community Foundation convenes experts working in the nonprofit sector to discuss current issues and needs, and/or to present information about their organization's programs and services. Donors are invited to attend these forums to learn more about local charitable needs.
As opportunities arise, staff may arrange for site visits or tours of local nonprofit organizations. This is an excellent opportunity for donors to learn more about an organization's work. To arrange a visit, contact our Director of Grants and Programs.
Donor Advisor Handbook
The Community Foundation has developed a handbook for donor advisors to assist them in understanding the administration of a donor-advised endowment. It includes strategies for grantmaking as well as further development of the fund.
Donor Forms Online
Access frequently used donor forms through the website, including the donor gifts of stock procedures, the gift of stock transfer form and donor suggestion form.
Fund Statements
Semi-annual fund financial statements are provided for tracking the activity of the fund.
