The Growing Together Initiative (GTI) is dedicated to addressing the needs of the San Luis Obispo County Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community and creating a permanent endowment to ensure ongoing support for local LGBT organizations and issues.

Understanding Need

In order to identify the most pressing needs in the LGBT community, the GTI Advisory Committee developed and distributed a community survey throughout the county in 2001. Over 500 were completed and returned. Additional focus groups were gathered following the initial survey.The survey and additional findings are included below: A personal perspective:

A Lasting Community Commitment

2008 Mini-Grants Available

Mini-grants of up to $500 are available to Gay – Straight Alliance Clubs in support of their efforts in San Luis Obispo County. Completed and signed applications may be submitted for consideration at any time, but no later than December 22, 2008.

2008 Grants

The Growing Together Fund Advisory Committee will consider small grant proposals for emerging local needs or projects. Proposals for grants up to $1,000 will be reviewed as received. Funding decisions will be made within 8 weeks of receiving the proposal.
