William Randolph Hearst Endowment for the Arts
Through the generosity of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, an endowed fund was established in July 2002, as a perpetual source of support for local arts organizations.
Specifically, this fund helps support and build the capacity of the over 60 arts organizations that are working hard to improve the quality of life in San Luis Obispo County. The fund also serves as a vehicle for leveraging local donors to preserve our diverse array of arts programs with an ultimate goal of reaching $1 million in the next 10 years.
The fund welcomes donors at all levels and all gifts to the fund are fully tax-deductible. Gifts may be made in memory of or in honor of a loved one or to commemorate special occasions. Cash contributions, appreciated stock and other planned giving instruments may be used to provide a perpetual gift to the local arts community. The Fund's endowment is held and managed as part of the SLO County Community Foundation's assets to maximize return while prudently managing risk.
To contribute to the fund or for further information contact 543-2323.

General Funding Guidelines
With the assistance of a local advisory committee, funding priorities are established each year for the distribution of earnings from the endowment. Organizations whose primary mission is supporting appreciation of the arts through education and/or experience of the diverse world of arts, and which conduct the majority of their public charitable operations in San Luis Obispo County are eligible to apply.
