Our Accomplishments

The San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation was established in 1998. The Foundation's initial goal was to reach $20 million in assets by the year 2008.
By 2006, the Foundation had
  • Assets of more than $27 million
  • Awarded more than $10.3 million in grants and scholarships
  • Established more than 180 funds
  • Secured $300,000 from the James Irvine Foundation to boost local artists and arts programs
  • Secured more than $575,000 from the James Irvine Foundation to support and improve operations
  • Recruited and trained a motivated and diverse Board of Directors
  • Hired a small but talented and dedicated staff
History
  • Dave Edwards was the Founding Executive Director of the Community Foundation from April 1999 until October 2006.

The San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation is a public trust established to assist donors in building an enduring source of charitable funds to meet the changing needs and interests of the community.
