San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation
What's New

Throughout the year, the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation distributes grants and scholarships as well as works with donors to develop new funding initiatives. The following are some of our most recent accomplishments:

Art Inspires!

Art Inspires! will foster creative works of art, support local arts organizations and educate local donors on the needs of the arts community. Funded through the James Irvine Foundation's Communities Advancing the Arts, the $300,000 grant will be divided over a three-year period and includes a community-matching component. Find out more about grants available and other activites by going to the Art Inspires! page.

Grant to Help Foundation Grow

In only seven years, the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation's (SLOCCF) assets have grown to over $21 million, more than 180 funds have been established and more than $5 million in grants have been made to assist nonprofit agencies. This success and the stability of the foundation led The James Irvine Foundation to select the SLOCCF as the recipient of a $575,000 grant to use towards enhancing the growth, visibility and services of the organization. This is the largest single grant the foundation has received since their formation in 1998. (Read the complete release) (72K PDF)

Endowment Over $21 Million

In 1998, the Board of the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation set a goal to raise $20 million in endowment funds by the year 2008. While 2008 is still several years away, the Foundation is already over their $20 million goal.
