Investing in our community
The San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation continually surveys community needs and opportunities, and uses this information to help guide our donors in their grantmaking.
There are several options for applying for grants through the Community Foundation. Grants and funds often have a specific focus such as arts and culture, health, education, human services or community enhancement.
General Grants
Each year the Community Foundation selects a specific focus for the general grants cycle, such as nonprofit organizational strengthening and/or capacity building. Each cycle is competitive and provides grants to a variety of qualified nonprofit organizations throughout San Luis Obispo County.
Grants and Programs
Through grants and programs, the Foundation is able to focus on strategic investments for addressing unmet or emerging community needs. These needs may be met through field of interest funds established at the Community Foundation to distribute grants for local programs. As new grant programs are developed, information and guidelines will be made available on this site.

Scholarships and Awards
